Geothermal and peak-load thermal plant

Garching / Hochbrück

Task

Energiewende Garching EWG, a project corporation consisting of E.ON, Garching municipality and AR Recycling, supplies Garching city and adjacent areas with geothermal heat in the base load and biomass heat in the medium load via a newly installed district heating network. In addition to these systems, BLS Energieplan GmbH planned the construction of a peak-load thermal plant with 35 MW thermal capacity.

The thermal capacity from biomass makes 2 x 6 MW. The thermal capacity of the heating oil peak-load and backup boiler unit makes 2 x 15 MW.
